Athens hotels? I will be visiting Athens from july 20 to july 23 what is the best location in the city(somewhere safe and nice)? any hotel recommendations? any apartments? I will be with my girlfriend, we are in our early 20s thanks in advance

Can anybody suggest some hotels in Athens? Looking for good value for the money, breakfast, and not too close to "red-light" districts. I'm generally alright with staying in a 3* hotel particularly because I don't spend all my time at the hotel. Thanks a lot to those who have left answers - you've helped a lot so far! With your imput i've come to the conclusion that Plaka would be a great place to stay. I am looking for a hotel with a safety depost box. Do you know of any?

Have you been to these Athens hotels? My boyfriend and I are staying at really nice hotels (Royal Myconian, etc) when we do the islands in Greece, but to cut back on costs, we went with budget hotels in Athens. Has anyone been to the following hotels that we are staying at and what do you think of them (especially in terms of how clean and safe they are)? - Apollonion Hotel - Hotel Glaros - Hotel Zinon (Best Western)

Does anyone know any affordable Hotels in Athens, Greece? My family and I are planning on going in July 28th ('08) to Aug 12th ('08). We just need a place where we can sleep, eat, and shower. That's all, nothing too fancy. How much would it cost us for our 15day-stay (an estimate ($ or Euros), 3 adults)?

Athens hotel locations: Is Victoria Square a good location for sight seeing? I am traveling to Athens in 2 weeks for 3 days of sight seeing. I have what looks like a great hotel located 5 minutes from Victoria Square, near the Victoria station at: 62 Filis Street, Athens 104 34, Greece The location is not mentioned in guide books which instead recommend Syntagma Square and Plaka/ Monastiraki. If someone who knows Athens can ofer an opinion as to whether Victoria Station is a suitable choice (we are young in healthy, so don't mind some walking).

Do you know cheap but safe and clean hotels in Athens? Something for a long term stay maybe a month or longer? Any other suggestions about the hotel or anything else are welcome. I will be there to try to learn some more Greek and practice what I already know, but I do not want to spend money on a language course. And of course meet some exotic cute Greek men :P

Can anyone recommend a budget hotel in Athens, Greece? I will be in Athens for four days in September. I'd like a budget hotel (40-60 Euro range) that is quiet, with a reasonable breakfast included, with air conditioning and with a lift. I am a single woman so I'd like a fairly safe neighborhood. I've been to Athens before and am an experienced traveler, so I know it's hot, smoggy, and dirty, but I also think it's a wonderful fascinating city. Ideally, the hotel should be on a side quieter street and also near a metro stop.

Ok people, what is the BEST hotel in Athens, greece? I know it's a bit specific... but someone on the internet must know! I need a hotel in Athens, Greece either in or near the Plaka... Around $200 us a night (less would be better!) and we need to be allowed 5 people in a room, connecting double and triple rooms would be ok too but it would still have to be in the price range for both rooms total.
